FRANKLIN, Keen of Rockdale. Age 85. Died 9/7/1984 (Friday) in the VA Hospital in Temple. Services held (Monday) in Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Donald Box officiated.

He was BORN in San Gabriel 1/28/1899, the son of the late M/M. John Henderson (Daisy Keen) Franklin. Married Jewel Shaffer on 8/7/1920 at Pleasant Hill. He was a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, served in both World Wars. Member of St.John United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Rotary Club, VFW and the Masonic Lodge. Retired electrician of Gulf State Utility and lived in Rockdale for 20 years.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jewel Franklin of Rockdale; daughter, Billye A. Tyson of Rockdale; son, Keen W. Franklin of Sao Luis, Brazil; sister, Blanche Horton of Pasadena; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; niece, Sarah Lincoln of Thorndale.
