Zora "Maxine" Francis passed away November 16, 2007 at Leisure Village Healthcare, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 85 years of age. Maxine was born September 4, 1922 in Schaberg, Crawford County, Arkansas to Jesse Jewel Schaberg Francis and George Wilgus Francis. The Francis family moved from Schaberg, Arkansas to the Dodge, Oklahoma community east of Grove, Oklahoma. Maxine attended Grove High School and graduated from high school at Stilwell, Oklahoma.

During WW II Maxine worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company at Camp Crowder in Neosho, MO. She was also employed for many years in the lab at St. John's Hospital, Tulsa, OK. Maxine was a born again Christian of the Pentecostal faith. She loved music and was an accomplished violinist and also played the guitar.

One sister Janelle Rose Francis Cypret, Tulsa, OK survives. Other survivors include; 4 nephews: Michael L Cypret, El Segundo, CA, George W Francis, Owasso, OK, David Francis and Gary Max Francis, Golden City, MO, one niece: Joan C Francis Pendleton, Grove, OK, one sister-in-law Ella B Markle Francis, Grove, OK

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents: Jesse Jewel Schaberg Francis & George W Francis. Six brothers: Hoyt Austin, Lyle Hulen, Ralph Dexter, Afton Jennings, Kerwin Kern, and her twin brother Arby Max Francis and one infant niece Debra Lee Cypret.

Maxine will be laid to rest beside her mother and father at Olympus Cemetery, near Grove, Oklahoma at 2:00PM Monday November 26, 2007 with the Reverend Kenneth Cope officiating.
