GOLDEN CITY, Mo. - Amber Elaine Francis, 14, of Golden City, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, in Jasper County, Mo in a tragic family car crash. Her brother David Francis was paralyzed from the chest down, her uncle Gary Francis received 13 broken bones.Her dad David was the only one to escape serious injury.
She was born July 9, 1991, in Lamar, Mo., to David Gregory Francis and Nancy (Brubaker) Simhiser. She was a student at Golden City High School, were she excelled in academics as an honor roll student.
She was active and encompassed leadership in her church. She was a member of the Golden City United Methodist Church and a member of the Stockton Assembly of God Youth Fellowship.
Survivors include her father of Golden City; her mother and step-father, Ray, of Stockton, Mo.; her brother, David Max Francis of Golden City; her step-brother, Zachary Simhiser of Stockton; her step-sister, Megan Simhiser of Stockton; maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Edna Brubaker of Golden City; three uncles; four aunts; and a host of cousins and their families.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Max and Ruth Francis. [on find a grave]
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lamar United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Lamar. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Lockwood Funeral Chapel.
