Mrs. Louise T. Fox of Matamoras, PA and a longtime resident of Port Jervis, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at Bon Secours Community Hospital with her family by her side. She was 95.

Louise was born February 15, 1914 in Forino, Avellino, Italy, the daughter of the late Vincenzo James, Sr. and the late Lucy Peluso Biondi. She married to the late John J. Fox, he died January 14, 2001.

Louise worked for Kolmar Labs in Port Jervis. She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA where she was in the Alter & Rosary Society. She was a member of the Matamoras Senior Citizens and the Mt. Carmel Society.

A family statement reads: "Mom was a woman whose love and strength spread to those around her. Her wonderful homemade recipes and beautiful crocheting brought joy to all who shared them. She was beloved as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. We were blessed to have her in our lives and now she dwells among the angels to watch over us still. Our family would like to thank Dr. Wolff, Dr. Ahmed, and the nursing staff at Bon Secour's and St. Joseph's Place for their care on her behalf."

Survivors include her son, John A. Fox & his wife, Paula of Pompton Plains, NJ; daughter, Geraldine Kowal & her husband, Richard of Port Jervis; brothers, James J. Biondi of Port Jervis and Dominick Biondi & his wife, Pat of Wayne, NJ; sister, Anna Osowick of Port Jervis; grandsons, Richard Jay Kowal & his wife, Jennifer of Port Jervis and Chad J. Kowal & his wife, Mary of Port Jervis; granddaughter, Michelle Fox of Greensboro, NC; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Kowal; great-grandson, Travis Kowal; nieces: Nancy McNeece & her husband, Brian of Lakeville, PA, Karen Smith & her husband, David of Poughkeepsie, Donna Valerio & her husband, Martin of Princeton, NJ, Cindy Minoque & her husband, Steven of Princeton, NJ, and Irene Chemi of Matamoras, PA; and several other nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Shirley Biondi and brother-in-law, John Osowick.

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main S., Port Jervis on Thursday, October 15, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16, with a prayer at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 307 Ave. F., Matamoras, PA with Rev. August A. Ricciardi officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.
