MRS. GEORGIA ANNA SNOWBERGER, aged 40 years, wife of Walter S. Snowberger, 111 North Franklin Street, died suddenly this morning at 5:40 o'clock at the Waynesboro Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital last Sunday and in the afternoon had undergone an operation. She was much improved and this morning at 4:40 suffered a heart attack resulting from an embolism.
She was born at Shady Grove, the daughter of Roy L. and Nellie Koons Fox, and lived there until her marriage in 1919 at which time she moved to Waynesboro where she had since made her home. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. For the last 22 years she was an active member of the Fidelis Adult Bible Class and was past president of the class. She was president of the Women's Work Organization and was a member of the Juniata League. She was also on the executive committee of the Bible Class. Mrs. Snowberger served two terms as president of the Auxiliary to the Joe Stickell Post, 1934-35, and was State chairman of the disabled veterans hospital at South Mountain.
She was a member of the Girl Scout Committee, a member of the Waynesboro Garden Club and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Y. M. C. A.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Betsy Ann; her parents at Middleburg; five brothers, Olen Fox of Greencastle, John of Shady Grove, Robert of Hagerstown, Landis of Camp Croft, South Carolina, Thomas of Middleburg; five sisters, Mrs. Homer Amsley of Hagerstown, Mrs. Bruce Bowers of Downsville, Maryland, Mrs. J. S. Haldeman of Burbank, California, Miss Ruth Fox of Middleburg, and Corrine Fox, who has made her home with Mrs. Snowberger for the last 21 years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the Church of the Brethren in charge of the Rev. Levi K. Ziegler. Internment will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the home Wednesday evening from 7 until 9.
