William H. Fowlie, 73, of Winona, Minn., retired farmer, died at his home Monday following two strokes and an illness of ten months with a heart ailment. He was born February 16, 1876, in Keystone, Iowa and had lived in Rockwell City, until three months ago.
Survivors are his wife, the former Maude Boland; three brothers, George, Rockwell City; Frank, Lake View, and Henry in Illinois, and three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Pratt, Dubuque, Mrs. Mary Hull, Callender, and Mrs. Richard Samsel of Fonda.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 28, at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Pro-Cathedral, the Rev. R.E. Jennings officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Those attending the rites from out-of-town were George Fowlie, a brother, Mrs. B. F. Root, a cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Root, cousins, Rockwell City, and Mr. and Mrs. John Sweeney, niece and nephew, Bellville, N.J. Out -of-town friends were Mr. and Mrs. John T. Lang, Miss Josephine McGinty, Arthur McGinty, and Mrs. Mame Pitstick, Rockwell City and Clifford Pitstick, Jolley.
