Capt Abraham Fowler, Sr

Birth: Aug. 29, 1652
Guilford
New Haven County
Connecticut, USA
Death: Dec. 5, 1720
Guilford
New Haven County
Connecticut, USA

He was the son of John Fowler and Mary Hubbard. He married Elizabeth Bartlett on 29 August 1677 in Guilford, Connecticut. It is unknown where she is buried, but it was probably in this same cemetery. He had military service as a Captain. This Abraham Fowler Sr. married to Elizabeth Bartlett should not be confused with their grandson, Abraham Fowler III, who also married an Elizabeth Bartlett. To add to the confusion, their son, Abraham Fowler Jr. married Elizabeth Hubbard, so there are Elizabeth Fowlers in each of these three generations.

Abraham was more than likely buried in Village Green Cemetery which no longer exists and his stone was moved to this cemetery when the other one was demolished. This cemetery was established in 1815, long after his death.
