Nina A. "Polly" Fowler of Independence, Kansas, died Sunday morning, March 27, 2005, at Beverly Health and Rehab in Neodesha, Kansas. She was 96.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence under the direction of Penwell Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home to register Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The casket has been closed.
The daughter of John Irving and Martha (Reynolds) Low, she was born July 16, 1908, in Arkansas City, Kansas.
She was united in marriage to Ralph B. Fowler on June 14, 1931 in Arkansas City, KS. With her husband, Mrs. Fowler moved to Independence, KS, in 1943. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1980.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Fowler was a longtime employee of Sayer's Ace Hardware and was also a bookkeeper for Wade Motor Company. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church and a former member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Larry J. Fowler of Surprise, AZ, and Richard Fowler of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and may be left at the funeral home.
