A native of Pacolet Mills, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Nellie Lee (Thornton) Fowler and the wife of Clyde H. Coleman.
A 1945 graduate of Pacolet High School, she was the owner and operator of Coleman's Beauty Shop for 30 years and was a member of Pacolet United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a sister, Jennie F. Campbell of Spartanburg.
