Ruth E. Bless, 85, of 53 Sanibel Lane, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Dec. 10, 1917, in Pleasant Hall, she was a daughter of the late Ira Foust and Emma Wenger.

She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg, where for 61 years she was a member of Buds of Promise Sunday School Class.

For 43 years, she was a seamstress at the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg. For six years, she also worked at the former Lyons Alterations.

She and her husband, Charles E. Bless Sr., were married June 25, 1937.

In addition to her husband, surviving are three sons, Charles Jr. (husband of Joyce E.) of Chambersburg, Robert E. (husband of Kathy) of Fayetteville and Gary D. of Sacramento Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Ira Foust Jr. of Shippensburg; and a sister, Emma Bless of Wilmington, Del.

Burial will be Saturday in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
