Ruth A. Burress
Ruth A. Burress, 71, of Clinton Rt.4, died Sunday at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Mrs. Burress was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John G. Burress.She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Heiskell and the Young at Heart Club in Jacksonville,Fla. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alline and Gerald Herd of Panama City, Fla., Nannie and Bill Elmore of Knoxville, one son and daughter-in-law, Homer J. Burress and Diane Burress, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Seigel Foust of Oliver Springs, Glen and George Foust and Dana and Anna Lou , all of Knoxville, three sisters, Madeline Newport and Ruby Strickland of Knoxville, Mary Frank Bunch of Oliver Springs, six grandchildren, David Burress, Sandra Elmore, Tiffanie Burress, Susan Herd, Michael Elmore and Libby Herd, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.Services were held Monday in the chapel at Tennessee Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. Duncan A. Carver Jr. officiating.Burial was Tuesday at Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens.
