Born June 10, 1915, at Bully Hill, she was a daughter of William F. "Ted" and Florence V. Hovis Foster.
Mrs. Asel, a lifelong resident of Rouseville, was a 1933 graduate of Oil City High School.
She worked for many years at Jean Frocks in Oil City.
For many years, Ms. Asel worked as a foster mother to numerous infants involved with the Children's Aid Society until 1982.
She was a member of the Rouseville United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Rouseville Volunteer Fire Department.
Mrs. Asel was a Gray Lady at the Oil City Hospital.
Surviving are a son and a daughter and two granddaughters. She also is survived by a sister, Nellie K. Foster of Rouseville; and one nephew of Rouseville.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Asel was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a son, Richard F. Asel; and a sister, M. Evelyn Higley.
The Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Rouseville Volunteer Fire Department or to the Rouseville United Methodist Church.
