Carrie Mae Ballenger, age 77, of Columbus, passed away March 19, 2006 at Yorkland Care Center. Born March 16, 1929 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Preceded in death by parents Alexander and Carrie Foster, husband James W. Ballenger and siblings Lois Johnson, Lula Mae Gladney, Sam Foster, and Corlis Foster. Loving memories are shared by her daughters, Alberta (J.B.) McDowell and Alice Ballenger; grandchildren, Keisha (Heiko) Charles, James "Eric" McDowell, and Tykea (Darin) Mathews; three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister, Vadis (Cecil) Collins; brother, James (Eunice) Foster; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Service 12Noon Thursday, March 23, 2006 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the start of service. Pastor Keith Troy, officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
