Mary was born December 11, 1927 in Newark, Ohio; the daughter of the late Harold and Audrey Phipps Foster.

She was a member of the Thornville United Methodist Church where she loved to sing and play the piano. Mary was a Sunday school and bible school teacher for many years. She was active in the Perry County Homemakers and was always ready to go on any senior citizen trip.

She loved to bowl at Thornville Lanes and sewed and made pillows and "mug rugs" for everybody. She loved sports, especially basketball and enjoyed watching her 3 grandsons Lance, Troy and Bo play at the Sheridan High School. She also became a huge Wittenberg University basketball fan when her grandson Lance played there. Mary graduated from Newark High School in 1946 and was a "Nerk" Wildcat at heart.

Surviving is the love of her life, her husband Lester to whom she has been married for 64 years. She had 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Vickey (Bruce) Dupler of Mt. Perry and Ruth (Lynn) Carpenter of Grove City. She was blessed with 3 grandsons and their wives, Lance (Kelly) Dupler of Mt. Perry, Troy (Jenny) Dupler of Thornville, and Bo (Molly) Dupler of New Lexington. She loved her 5 great grandchildren, Connor, Dylan, Abby, Caroline and Macauley Dupler. She had 1 brother and sister-in-law, Herman (Mary) Foster of Thornville and a brother-in-law, James Dennison of Marquez, TX, also several nieces and nephews. Mary's second family was all of the caring staff at Autumn Healthcare of Thornville who made her final years happy and comfortable.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister Lillie Mae Dennison and a daughter Melanie who died at birth.
