Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in Pitts Chapel in Bolivar with the Rev. Jim Bybee officiating with burial to follow in the Enon Cemetery in Eudora. Mrs. Ahart, 75, Fair Play, died Saturday in her home. She was born in Aldrich, the daughter of the Rev. Leonard Don and Jessie Alline Cornell Foster.
Jessie married Charles W. Ahart Jan. 4, 1951. She was a lifelong member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church. Her greatest mission in life was to reach out to the lost and to show them there was a better way through Jesus Christ. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Ahart; her daughter, Rosemary Godfrey; her sons, Roy Lee Ahart and Leonard Dale Ahart; her brother, Leonard Eugene Foster; her sister, Carrie Ann Foster; and her grandson, Larry Wayne Godfrey.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Robert Ahart and his wife, Lisa, of Bolivar and Jerry Dean Ahart and his wife, Barbara, of Liberty, Okla.; two brothers, Carl Foster and his wife, Beverly, of Buffalo and Billy Foster and his wife, Louise, of Fair Play; a sister, Virginia Sue Hoggs and her husband, JR, of Florence, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
