Addie Mae Foster, 86, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Providence Medical Center. Addie was born on December 31, 1926, in Cleveland, Arkansas to the parents of James W. and Hettie Canady. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, James W. Canady, Jr., and Elmo Canady, her sister, Ruby Byers, and her daughter-in-law, Lynett E. Foster. Addie was united in marriage to James Foster, Jr., on July 27, 1945. They shared each other's journey for forty-five years until he preceded her in death on July 8, 1991. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas. Addie Mae Foster is survived by, her son, James M. Foster; granddaughter, Nefateria K. L. Foster; grandson, Jahmil M. Foster; six great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family, children, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services for Addie Mae Foster will be held on Saturday, August 3, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 500 Nebraska, Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at The Church. Interment, Chapel Hill Cemetery.
