Norma Jean Cook, the daughter of Albert C. and Luella M. Foster was born August 21, 1925 at McPaul, Iowa in Fremont County. She died on Friday, July 13, 2001 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 22 days. Norma was raised in the Thurman, Iowa area and graduated from Thurman High School. She was united in marriage to Wilburn L. Cook on January 26, 1946 at Thurman, Iowa. They moved to Red Oak in l946 and in 1977 moved to Rogers, Arkansas. She returned to Red Oak in l999. Norma had worked for Union Carbide Battery Company for over 30 years. She was a member of the Thurman United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary in Rogers, Arkansas, Monday Club in Red Oak, Iowa and attended Christian Women's Club in Red Oak. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilburn on June 11, 1982; 3 sisters: Gladys, Marjorie and Ruth; and 4 brothers: Ralph, Bill, Gene and Carl. Norma is survived by three daughters: Barbara Belt and husband Joe of Red Oak, Iowa, Nancy Sexton and husband Gary of Rogers, Arkansas and Linda DeBar and husband Tom of Missouri Valley, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Gray and wife Nancy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters: Mrs. Hazel Parkison of Sidney, Iowa, Delores Fleming and husband Jim of Atlantic, Iowa and Donna Miller and husband Don of Niceville, Florida; other relatives and a host of friends.
