Mr. Foster was born September 5, 1919 in Hartleton, PA, and was the son of the late Clarence W. and Mamie s. (Yohe) Foster.
He was a WWII Marine Corps Veteran who had been employed by Frank Burkeholder Amusements and retired from Mutzabaugh's Market. He was a member of Dunannon VFW Post 255 and Duncannon American Legion Post 340. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Harrisburg.
He was the widower of Esther Elaine Foster (1974) and is survived by two sons, Barry B. Foster. Sr., and wife Barbara of Duncannon and Dean W. Foster and wife Jeanie of Harrisburg. A daughter Elaine Reckner and husband Dave of Harrisburg, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at noon in the Boyer Funeral Home, 230 N. High Street, Duncannon. His son, Barry B. Foster, Sr., will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Garden. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 10-12 noon.
