Colon Foster, 85, of Elizabeth, Ark., son of the late Victor Foster and Alma Smith Foster, was born Jan. 15, 1917 in Elizabeth. He departed this life Jan. 27, 2002 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem. He was married to Betty Comstock on July 11, 1984 at Elizabeth. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was self-employed as a farmer. He was a member of the American Legion at Viola.Survivors include his wife, Betty of the family home in Elizabeth; his brother, Otress Foster of Viola; his sister, Norma Young of Kansas City, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by two baby brothers; and his father and mother.Graveside services were Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002 at Elizabeth Cemetery at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Elizabeth Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
