Harriet Vivian Duckworth, 92, of Crookston diead early Tuesday morning, April 27, 1999 at Riverview Nursing Home.
Harriet was born in Detroit Lakes on January 12, 1907, the daughter of Peter and Carrie (Schustrun) Foss.
She grew up in Crookston and attended Crookston Schools.
She married Leonard Duckworth in Crooksotn on December 30, 1922. Leonard was employed by the Great Northern Railroad. While Crookston was always basically considered to be home, the family moved around the area quite a bit because of Leonard's job. After his retirement in 1967, Harriet and Leonard enjoyed traveling extensively. In her younger days, Harriet was an enthusiastic bowler and also loved to fish and play cards. Leonard passed away on may 13, 1971. Harriet continued to stay in home and enjoy spending as much time as she could in her garden.
She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard, Crookston and Robert, Masa Arizona; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Hong, Crookston and Lucille Turner, Seattle, Washington.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald; an infant daughter, Lenora; her parents; a grandson, Randal, in May of 1996; and two brothers, Ben Foss and Glenn Foss.
