Archie W. Fortner, 86, of Sullivan died 6:33 p.m. Thursday (March 26, 1998) in Sullivan Living Center.
He was born in Moweaqua on May 16, 1911 to John and Clara Burrows Fortner. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Rollie, Elza and Dale, and sister, Goldie Manning.
He married Luella ''Peggy'' Ramseyer on Feb. 9, 1935. She survives. Also surviving are his sons, William and wife Helen of Dalton City; Ronald and wife Sandy of Tower Hill; Donald and wife Josie of Herrick and Frank and wife Sharon of Vinton, Va.; daughter, Janet Becker and husband Dean of Moweaqua; sister, Mildred LeMar of Decatur; brother, Edward of Decatur; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
