Born to Tom and Fannie Kirkland Fortenberry, she was a retired school teacher having taught in Saratoga, Woodville, Jasper, Vidor, and Port Arthur, Texas.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Woodville.
Florine was preceded in death by her husband Brewer "Buby" Brown and a sister Mildred Fortenberry Billingsley.
Survivors include her son Wayne Brown; daughter, Janet Bryant; sisters, Belle Mahan and Marjorie Barnes; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
