Bobby Earl Forrest, 56 of Tiptonville, died Thursday, Nov, 23, 1995 at William Bowld Hospital in Memphis of heart failure aftre a prolonged illness. He was a retired Corrections Officer and a Vietnam War Veteran.
Services were at Lake Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home in Tiptonville at 3:30 Saturday, Nov 25, with Dr. Judson Lambert, pastor of First Baptist Church of Tiptonville, officiating.
Pallbearers were Joe Jones, Glenn Vickrs, Joe Vernon, Artie Lynch, Gary Cantrell, and James Pinner, Brad Poole was honorary pallbearer.
Burial was in Lake Memorial Gardens near Tiptonville.
Forrest was born July 13, 1939 in Lake County to the late Lillie "Top" Johnson Forrest and William Buford Forrest.
He had lived in Lake County all his life, and attended Lake County Schools.
He married Barbara Gail Nance of Lake County, who survives.
He was a retired Lieutenant for the Department of Correction, Lake County Regional Correction Facilty, chosen Officer of the year in 1984.
A Veteran of the Vietnam War, he recieved a Purple Heart. He was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church at Ridgely.
He leaves, besides his wife Barbara Nance Forrest, two daughters, Bobbie Gail Forrest and Tracie Nance Forrest, of Tiptonville; five brothers, Gene A Forrest and W. C. Forrest of Dyersburg, James Russell Forrest and William B. Forrest both of Tiptonville, and Roger D Forrest of Ridgely; a sister Ruby a McKinney of Jackson; a granddaughter, Keleigha Breann.
