The Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Saturday, June 29, 2013 at a 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Rena "Sis" Forestier Colligan, age 86, the former Rena "Sis" Forestier, who passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her residence in Carencro.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Andre Metrejean, Associate Pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Colligan was a native of Church Point and a resident of Carencro all of her life. She was employed with B.F. Trappey's Cannery for over twenty years. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro. Mamom loved her family, spoiling her children and grandchildren shamelessly. When the great grandchildren arrived, they became the center of her world. She will be dearly missed by all, and especially by her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Leland Joseph Colligan and his wife, Maydell, of Carencro and Autry Lee Colligan and his companion, Loretta, of Crowley; and six grandchildren, Kevin Colligan and his wife, Angela, and their children Bradford and Jackson; Lawanda Courville and her husband, Kevin, and their two daughters Jorie and Zoie; Trisha Thibodeaux and her husband, Nelson, and their two children Shawn and Bailey; Roger Colligan and his wife, Tara; Farrell Romero and his wife, Lovey and son, Tyler; and Channing Breaux and his son, Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Colligan; her parents, Walter Louis Forestier and the former Adeline LeBlanc; two brothers, Alexon Forestier and Liney Forestier; and one sister, Melena Miller.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Colligan, Roger Colligan, Shawn Thibodeaux, Tyler Romero, Nelson Thibodeaux and Farrell Romero.
