Veteran of World War II. Served as a combat infantryman with the 45th Division in Sicily, Naples Foggia, Anzio, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star with three Oak Leaf Cluster and the Air Force Commendation Medal. After being discharged from the Army, he re-enlisted in the United Sttaes Air Force in 1948 and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1963.
