Eugenia "Jean" Ford Atwill born July 28, 1921 passed away on April 8, 2012 at James River Rehab center due to complications following a stroke at the age of 90. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John Atwill; parents, Homer and Eugenia Ford; and her nine brothers and sisters.
Jean graduated from Springfield Senior High School in 1939, where she was a twirler for the band. She then attended Southwest Missouri Teacher's College, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
Jean, along with her husband, John were charter members of Twin Oaks Country Club and National Avenue Christian Church. She had been active in The Sorrell Club, art groups and garden clubs throughout her life.
She is survived by a son, John Gary Atwill (Jimmie); a daughter, Donna Richards (David); three grandsons, John "Jey" Atwill, Dustin D. Richards and Drew T. Richards; one granddaughter, Catherine "Tori" Sallee (Tim); four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Ian Atwill and Anna and Rachel Sallee.
A private family burial at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
