Funeral services for Lola Ford, age 95, of Conroe will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 3 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Edward Hahn officiating. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
Lola was born December 7, 1914 in Rocky, Oklahoma to James A. and Laura Mae Brown Straily and went to be with our Lord on May 1, 2010. She passed peacefully at home in Conroe, Texas. She has been a resident of Conroe since 1933 and is a long time member of the Grangerland Church of Christ. She assisted her husband, Carl, in the operation of several businesses including the Pop Kola Bottling Plant and Ford's Auto Parts and Used Cars.
Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Carl and their son, Jimmie Charles Ford and her son-in-law, Grady McDonald. Lola is survived by her loving family including her two daughters, Martha McDonald and Jeanette Cox and husband Russell Sr.; son, Carlton Ford and wife Ira; grandchildren, David McDonald and wife Kaye, Mike McDonald, Lisa Simpson and husband Rex, Cindy Thornberry and husband Charles, Dee Anna Bueno and Russell Cox III; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
Pallbearers will be David McDonald, Mike McDonald, Rex Simpson, Charlie Ford, Charles Thornberry and Jesse McDonald. Honorary pallbearers are Dakota Simpson, Jordan McDonald, Chad Thornberry, Joshua Roley, Gary Capps and Michael Roley.
Lola was a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed, but she will live in their hearts forever.
