Burial will be on July 9, 2013, at the Rest Lawn Memorial Park at Junction City, Ore. Mrs. Forbes passed away on June 18, 2013, at her home at Bishop Place in Pullman, where she has resided for the past eight years.
She was born Aug. 13, 1919, at Cottage Grove, Ore., to Alonzo and Edith (Foote) Sprinkel.
Delores attended her schooling at Roseburg, Eugene, Coos Bay and graduated from Yoncalla High School in Yoncalla, Ore., in 1937.
She married Lauren Forbes on July 20, 1941, at Yoncalla, and the couple lived in Panama and in many places throughout the U.S., as Mr. Forbes was in the United States Army.
The couple moved to Pullman in 1954, Eugene in 1957, to Pullman in 1959 and to Palouse in 1968, where they made their home since. The couple later moved to Bishop Place in Pullman in 2005. Mr. Forbes died in 2011.
Delores loved to be involved in her community and was a member of the Palouse Federated Church, Palouse Senior Citizens, Palouse Round Table, Whitman County Genealogical Society and the Idaho Roadrunners. The couple especially enjoyed genealogy, traveling and reading.
She loved being with family, particularly her grandchildren. A fond memory was the year three of the grandchildren stayed with them all summer. As she grew older and less able to travel, she asked if the grandchildren could come and visit often. She was generous and loved to give anonymously to others. All of her family and friends enjoyed her sense of humor.
Survivors include two sons, Leon and his wife, Peggy, and Daniel and his wife, Lexie (Skipper); one daughter, Elizabeth Dianne and her husband, Blaine; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
