Mr. Forbes was born in New Brunswick, moved at an early age to Wisconsin and came to Portland in 1914, at which time he entered the services of the Spokane, Portland & Seattle railway in the traffic department. He was widely known in transportation circles, having served his company in various positions at Spokane, San Francisco and Portland.
On September 1 this year he retired to his home in Seaside, where he resided until he became critically ill and was removed to Columbia hospital, Astoria.
He leaves the widow, Ethel; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Gillette; one grandson; two sisters, Miss Margaret Forbes and Miss Harriet Forbes, all of Portland.
