Mount Vernon—Elizabeth R. (Betty” Botkin, 83, of 906 W. Burgess Street, died December 3, 1998, at the Park Medical Center in Columbus.

She was born March 30, 1915, in Byesville to Charles and Pearl Belle (Taylor) Foraker. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and was a foster grandmother at Mount Vernon Developmental Center for 10 years.

Mrs. Botkin is survived by a daughter, Ruth Bowers of Mount Vernon; a son, William (Charlene) Botkin of Newark; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 step great granddaughter.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl G. Botkin, who died in 1989; a daughter, Harriet Botkin; a grandson, Robert Bowers; and 2 sisters, Adelia Hurlow and Flossie Pennybaker.

Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where the funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Wendell Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
