Beulah Lormand Bushnell
Beulah Lormand Bushnell, 89, of Lake Charles died at 8:05 p.m. on Friday, Sept., 10, 2010, in Booneville, Miss., with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. Bushnell was born in Kinder to Ozyiear and Oscar Fontenot in September of 1920. She attended Fenton High School. Mrs. Bushnell had lived in Lake Charles for the past 69 years. She worked as a cafeteria manager for LaGrange Senior High School for 28 years. Mrs. Bushnell was a member of Eastwood United Pentecostal Church since 1957. She was in the Pentecostal Camping Club since 1976. She was president of the Louisiana School Food Association for the Calcasieu Parish School Board. Mrs. Bushnell loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting in her spare time.
She is survived by her husband, R. V. Bushnell of Lake Charles; one son, the Rev. Russell Lormand and wife Billye Ruth of Booneville, Miss.,; and one daughter, Peggy Ann Lormand of Hot Springs, Ark.; three granddaughters, Rene Oliver and husband Darrell, Sandra Epley and husband Greg and Nola Mannino and husband Troy; great-grandchildren, Stacie Gleason, Charlotte Long, Derick Oliver, Erika O'Guinn and husband Shawn, Andrea Oliver, Chad Epley and wife Rachel, Jeremy Epley and Zakary, Jazmine, Austin, Lance and Logan Mannino; and nine great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bushnell is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Lormand; and her parents, Ozyiear and Oscar Fontenot; three brothers, Raney, Martin and Dempsey Fontenot; and one sister, Inez Sonnier.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at East Wood United Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Murrell Ewing, the Rev. Lenford Whitaker and the Rev. Greg Epley will officiate. Burial will be in Green Oaks Cemetery in Kinder under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today, Sept. 13, in the funeral home and from 8 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
