A telegram was received in the city yesterday announcing the death of William Wallace Fondey. He died on Sunday last, in the state of Colorado, about thirty miles from Denver, and as he had long been a sufferer from consumption, the news of his death was not unexpected.

William Wallace Fondey was born in this city, on the 10th of June, 1853, and hence was in the 28th year of his age at the time of his death. His parents were Col. W. B. and Mary Fondey, well known citizens, and a number of relatives still reside in the city and county, among the number his aunt, Mrs. Charles Ridgely. He was an exemplary and highly esteemed young man - a graduate of the Springfield high school, and until 1875 was connected with the Ridgely National bank.

His health failing he went west, and about two years ago returned and was united in marriage to Miss Katie Halbert, an esteemable young lady, who is now left to mourn him.

The remains will be brought to this city for interment.
