Birth: May 1, 1943
Alameda County
California, USA
Death: Feb. 18, 2012
Alameda County
California, USA

Nancy was born at Alameda Hospital to Dorothy B. Lee and William H. Lee on May 1, 1943 and went to Heaven February 18, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and William (Bill) Lee. She is survived by her devoted husband Gary, our daughter Jeanette and her husband Rolan Cook, her Granddaughter Danielle and her husband Chris Brutko, Andrew and Samantha Cook and Brandy Balentino, her Great Granddaughter Jeanette, Sister Diane and her husband Jerry Green, her sister in law Kathryn (Kay), her husband Gaylord (Bill) Hoge, Mother in law G.E. (Pat) Fonda, brother in law Robert and his wife Reiko Fonda, Brother in law Harold and his wife Theodora Fonda, many nieces and nephews and more friends than there is available space to mention.

While Nancy was attending Encinal High School, and about to graduate (1961), was introduced to Gary, who was in the Air Force at the time by his sister Kay. Gary fell head over heels for her, and began a courtship which was only interrupted by his being transferred to Turkey, however, they continued to correspond via mail and on occasion by telephone until his return in December 1962 when the relationship grew and they were married on June 9, 1963. On February 20, 1966 there arrived this very precious and beautiful young baby girl blonde with blue eyes as though it was a special order Nancy had placed. Jeanette grew up in a loving environment and both were so proud of the beautiful young lady she had become. Jeanette married and moved away and this was the first time in many years that Nancy and Gary had been alone together. About a year later Jeanette gave birth to a beautiful daughter Danielle, and Nancy and Gary were proud Grandparents.

For a shy person, Nancy had a very outgoing personality, and would talk to people that she had never met before, and they would relate to her very intimate details which would on occasion cause Nancy to blush. There were no strangers to Nancy, only people that she had not met. After Gary had retired for several years he began completely remodeling and painting the outside and inside of the house until it was to the complete satisfaction of Nancy. She so Loved her home, and was proud to show it off to everyone.

Danielle their granddaughter married and 11 months later gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who she named after her mother Jeanette Michelle, but they lived in Texas, so she could not be there with her now Great Granddaughter, but in December they traveled from Texas to Alameda, and Nancy was able to see this beautiful new arrival and this was the most wonderful and joyous Christmas for Nancy and Gary.

Nancy had a long time love affair with animals, especially cats, and from the time after the birth of her daughter, there were always cats living in the house, and for the last 30 years there was at least two, but mostly three at a time and the current three Max, Sophie and Sarah have missed her presence since Nancy has been hospitalized.

Gary, his daughter Jeanette and her husband Rolan were at her side when she passed away suddenly at Alta Bates Summit Hospital in Oakland. Nancy will be missed by her loving family and her many friends. Good bye my love.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Thursday February 23, 2012 from 2PM to 8PM at the Santos-Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Ave, San Leandro, CA.
