Death of Mr. Fonda
Marcus Fonda, the old gentleman who has been employed about Frankfort for the past year, doing odd jobs, died Saturday at the Clinton House, where he was taken Thursday.
Mr. Fonda came here from Muncie, and until about a week ago made his home with Sam Cosner. A few days ago he became afflicted with a carbuncle which became so intensely painful that his mind gave way, and it was deemed best to restrain him and he was sent to the County House for that purpose.
Deceased was a man of whom his acquaintance knew little of his past history. He was a man of good habits, and had a splendid education, being a graduate of an eastern college. He was a soldier in the Mexican War, and with the pension he received from the government and the money he earned at odd jobs lived easy and comfortable. His age was 66 years.
The funeral occurred Sunday morning at 9 o'clock, with interment at Green Lawn cemetery.
