Juanita Elizabeth Foley Doyle, 87, of Roanoke, beloved wife of the late Sidney E. Doyle joined him in heaven on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lizzie and Paul Foley; brother, James Paul Foley; and sister, Viola Foley. Juanita leaves behind her cat, Susy; several nieces and a nephew along with a number of cousins, including special cousins, Susy and Pete Johnson and Ronnie Nance; special friends, Juanita Creasy and Hilda Ferrell and Kathy, caregiver, Rhonda McLamb as well as many, many friends.
Juanita was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Salem and a member of the VFW. She was especially proud of her 60 plus year membership and accomplishments, including being Senior Regent and a Collegiate in the WOTM, Chapter 1022.
Juanita and Sidney met – and he proposed at Moose functions. They were married at Roanoke Moose Lodge 284.
Juanita was a strong, determined, feisty woman who willing shared her opinions and wonderful wit. She was a true blessing to those who knew her. She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Oakey's North Chapel, with the Rev. Chris Mitchell officiating. The interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Vinton. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel.
