Mrs. Ann Foley passed away this morning at seven o'clock the result of an auto accident occurring last night about a mile south of town between nine and nine thirty. She was thrown through the window of a car as it collided with a wagon. Dr. L. H. Kahnke in company with Chester O'Toole were driving with a load of hogs. The car in which Mrs. Foley was riding was driven by Thos. Cawley. Mrs. Cawley, his mother, and five children were also in the car. One of the children, Nellie, was badly injured on the fact with broken glass. None of the other occupants of the car were injured. The car and wagon were going in the same direction. As the car turned to pass it the driver was blinded by the glare of lights in a car going in the opposite direction. He hit the wagon and tumbled into the ditch. Neither the doctor or the boy were injured. Mrs. Foley received immediate aid, Dr. Joyce being called. She lingered without regaining consciousness and passed away at seven o'clock this morning.
Mrs. Foley was a sister of the late Edward Hayden. She was the mother of James Foley of Alton, Thomas and Mrs. J. B. Courtney of St. Paul, Edward of Swatara, and Mrs. J. B. Cawley of Janesville. The funeral will be conducted Friday morning at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Foley was a well beloved woman known to all our people. Her sad death hs cast a cloud of deep sorrow over the community.
