To Bury Mother And Daughter

Double Funeral To Be Held At Reddington – Other Deaths The Past Week

Double funeral services, in charge of the Rev. A. A. Cohn of Seymour, will be held at the Reddington Christian Church Friday afternoon at 2:30 for Mrs. Harrison Foist and daughter, Miss Blanche, who died a few hours apart at their home in Seymour Tuesday of typhoid fever.

The daughter passed away Tuesday morning following a ten days’ illness and Mrs. Foist died Tuesday night after a two weeks’ illness.

Miss Blanche, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Foist, was born in Redding township August 10, 1903, and moved to Seymour with her parents about eight years ago. Besides her father, she leaves four brothers.

Mrs. Foist was the daughter of Adam and Margaret Shank, deceased, and was born at Reddington, March 3, 1865. She was married to Harrison Foist in March, 1888, who survives her. She also leaves four sons, Louis and George, of Seymour; Clifford, of Columbus, Raymond, of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Susan Adams, of Reddington; Mrs. Mary Stewart, of Minnesota; Mrs. Charlotte McVey, of Chestnut Ridge, and two brothers, Charles Shank, of South Dakota, and Edison Shank, of Lawrence, Kansas.

Fever Claims Two Victims

Mrs. Harrison Foist and Daughter, Known Here, Die At Seymour.

Typhoid fever yesterday claimed two victims, both residents of Seymour, who were well-known here. They were Miss Blanche Foist, 24, and her mother, Mrs. Lettie Foist, 62.

The daughter died at 7 o’clock yesterday morning at the family home, 651 South Vine street, and two hours and 40 minutes later her mother passed away. The mother had been ill for two weeks, and her daughter for a period of ten days.

Double funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Reddington Christian church, with the Rev. A. A. Conn, of Seymour, officiating. Burial will be in the Reddington cemetery.

Surviving the mother are the husband, Harrison Foist; four sons, Louis and George Foist, of Seymour; Clifford Foist, of this city, and Raymond Foist, of Franklin; two brothers, Charles Shank, of South Dakota, and Enniston Shank, of Lawrence, Kan., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary N. Stewart, of Minnesota; Mrs. Susan Adams, of Reddington, and Mrs. Charlotte McVey, of Chestnut Ridge.

Mrs. Foist and daughter visited in this city often, and had many friends here. Some member of the Foist family has lived in this city for some time.
