Gertrude Irene Glatfelter was the daughter of Luther Glatfelter and Eliza Jane Hake. Her maternal grandparents were Frederick Gross Hake and Sarah Moore. She married Vernon Absolom Fogle in 1912. Vernon was born on 28 August 1888 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of Oliver Marshall Simpson Fogle (1862-1910) and Lydia Stover.
In 1930 Gertrude was divorced and living with her parents in York. Living with Gertrude was her son Robert K. Fogle who was born in about 1915 in Pennsylvania.
The children of Vernon Fogle and Gertrude Glatfelter were:

2. Marguerite Fogle (William Beehner) (Hunkers, Pa)
Marguerite was the foster daughter of her aunt, Bessie Glatfelter Shindler.

Marguerite F. Beehner, 91, of Latrobe, formerly of Youngwood, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Green Meadows, Latrobe. She was born May 30, 1913, in York, a daughter of the late Vernon and Gertrude Glatfelter Fogle, and was raised by her foster parents, the Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Charles Schindler, D.D.
She was a graduate of Johnstown High School and attended Lock Haven State University and was a life member of Alpha Tau National Fraternity. Marguerite was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Greensburg, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, pianist, former choir member and a member of the Mary-Martha Circle. She was a former 4-H leader; a member and Past Worthy Matron of William E. Gelston Chapter #435, O.E.S.; and a former District Deputy of O.E.S. She was a Past Bethel Guardian of Bethel #10 of Job's Daughters and Past Grand Guardian of Pennsylvania International Order of Job's Daughters and was a past president of the Auxiliary of Kedron Commandery No. 18, Knights Templar. She was a co-owner of Busy Bee Yarn and Craft store in Youngwood and was a staunch supporter of Westmoreland County Community College, where she was a past officer of the SPAN program and Widow to Widow; a past board member of the Area Office of Aging; and past president of the R.S.V.P. Board. She was a former teacher of arts and crafts at Christ United Methodist Church in Youngwood and a literacy teacher for the Westmoreland Council.
In addition to her parents and foster parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, William D. Beehner, who died in 1976, and a brother, Robert Fogle.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Stemniski and her husband, Dr. John Stemniski, of Swampscott, Mass., and Marguerite Ann Williams and her husband, David, of Latrobe; a son, Charles Beehner and his wife, Esther, of Mountain Home, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Lutheran Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. E. Allen Scanlon officiating. Interment will follow in Hillview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, should friends desire, memorials may be placed with the First Lutheran Church, 246 S. Main St., Greensburg. Members of William E. Gelston Chapter No. 435, O.E.S., will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home."
