She was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Butte to Madeline Brennan Flynn and Ralph Flynn. She graduated from Butte Central High School and worked for the Bureau of Mines in Washington, D.C. She returned to Butte, where she married and spent most of her life. Upon retirement she and her husband moved to Las Cruces, N.M., where they lived for several years before moving to Fresno.
She took great joy in her family and devoted her life to them. She was a great storyteller and keeper of family history. She loved antiques and oriental art, with a special fondness for elephants and built her collection over the years. Her hobbies included bridge, gardening, crafts and baking. She enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Edward Bonner.
Survivors include her children, Madeline Arlas and her husband Ron of Larkspur, Calif., Patricia Bonner of San Francisco, Marlene Puaoi and her
husband Richard of Novato, Calif., and Deborah Stemwedel and her husband Tim of Fresno; grandchildren, Eric and his wife Stephanie, Lauren, Nick and Jessica; sisters, Nadine Handy and her husband Wesley of Las Cruces, Rose Dorothy Medicus of Concord, Calif., their children and numerous nieces and nephews.
