KNOX CITY — Mrs. Ida Flye Cathcart, 97, of Knox City passed from this world on Monday, February 13, 2012 in Munday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Knox City with Rev. Bo Johnson and Rev. Kenneth Flye officiating. Burial will follow in the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Mrs. Cathcart was born on December 23, 1913 in Waco, Texas to Anderson and Ida Mae Flye. She was a homemaker and had moved back to Knox City from Los Angeles in 1980. She was a member of the Church of the Living God in Christ in Knox City.
Ida is survived by one son, Booker Ball and his wife Rose of Los Angeles; 2 grandsons, Steven Jones of Anson and Jeffrey Jacob of Los Angeles; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, and many brothers and sisters.
