FLOYDFloyd was born in Tecumseh, near Terre Haute, Indiana July 15th, 1858, and was left an orphan at two months old. The next February her uncle, Jas. M. Smith, went to Indiana and brought her to Missouri to her aunt, Mrs. Jas. M. Smith, who reared her, and with whom she remained until her marriage in March 1876 to Simeon Floyd. She was the mother of five children, four of whom and her husband survive her. She was a dutiful daughter, a kind and affectionate wife and mother, a devoted Christian. She died Jan. 24, 1895, leaving many friends to mourn[.]
