Mrs. Erma Floyd Thompson ("Nana"), 77, passed on to her eternal resting place Friday evening at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Liberty County native was educated in the Chatham County schools and lived in Savannah for many years before moving to Statesboro in 1965. She was a homemaker and a caregiver to her children, grandchildren and many others, and was affectionately known as "Nana". Nana loved fishing, feeding her children and watching Auburn football, for which her grandson plays. She was a member of the Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church in Savannah.

Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Harry Richmond Floyd and Gladys E. Floyd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven R. Thompson Sr.; her son, Steven R. Thompson Jr.; her sister, Faye Barratta; and her grandson, Brian Thompson.

Surviving are: a son and two daughters-in-law, Eric and Georgette Thompson of Statesboro and Phyllis Thompson Warnock and John Warnock of Dublin; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pamela E. Thompson of Statesboro, Paula and Jerral Hendrix of Manning, S.C. and Penny and Mickey Nesmith of Statesboro; 10 grandchildren, Joe Thompson, Tate and Christy Thompson, Casey and Cindy Thompson, Gina and James Brown, Stanley Hendrix, Trent Nesmith, Matthew Nesmith and Cindell Nesmith, all of Statesboro, and Erica Thompson and Josh Thompson, both of Auburn, Ala. Four great grandchildren also survive, Chandler Thompson, Jodi Ellis, Trevor Brown and Dalton Brown.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
