Sheldon "Rocky" Flowers, Jr., 13, of Hortense died early Wednesday morning (April 28,2010) at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, FL from injuries sustained in a four wheeler accident.
Born in Brunswick, GA his parents are Sheldon Rocky Flowers, Sr. and Timeka Grace Flowers both of Hortense. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sheldon Lawrence Flowers.
Rocky was a student at Brantley County Middle School.
Survivors include his parents; 3 sisters, Roxie Flowers, Rebekah King and Caroline Henry all of Hortense; a brother, John King of Hortense; paternal grandmother, Shirley Ann Flowers; maternal grandparents, Henry & Grace Lain of South Carolina; paternal great grandmother, Onie Flowers of Hortense; 3 uncles and aunts, Damon & Tammy Flowers of Hortense, Henry & Sheila Lain and Ayhan & Jennifer Lain all of South Carolina; 3 cousins, Charlie & Mersadees Flowers of Hortense and Hannah Lain of South Carolina; Also several other aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening (April 29, 2010) starting at 6 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (April 30, 2010) at 4 P.M. at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Sammy Spradley, Rev. Lamar Lee and Rev. Ricky Knox officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hortense Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Davison, Chris Boyd, Jason Flowers, Cale Flowers, Shannon Flowers and B.J. Flowers.
Honorary pallbearers will be his classmates of Brantley County Middle School.
