MUNCIE--Wilma Edith Flowers, age 84, passed away at Ball Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 23, 2004 after an extended illness.
She was born September 7, 1920 in McMinnville, TN, and had lived most of her life in Muncie.
She was a homemaker and attended Industry United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, and was known as Green Thumb on the CB Radio.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Earl Flowers; three children, Shelby (companion-Irene) Flowers, Darlene (companion-Bob) Flowers, and Michelle (husband-Mike) Hale; eight grandchildren, Shella (husband-Kevin) Smith, who she raised like a daughter, Earlene (husband-Bill) Victory, Shelby Flowers Jr., Billie Jo (husband-Kenneth) O'Bryan, Dawn (husband-Mark) King Jones, Jimmie (wife-Billie) Carter, and Brittany Hale (fiance-Jason Swearingen), Muncie; sister-in-law, Faye Hennessee; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Shadow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burt and Winnie (Johnson) Hennessee; and her brother, Leslie Hennessee.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday October 27, 2004 at the funeral home. Rev. Steve Huddleston will officiate the services and burial will take place at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
