Berlin Scott, known as Lynn, was the last of 8 children and had four brothers (only one reached adulthood) and three sisters and was born in Greenwich, Ohio.
His parents were Daniel Webster and Jane Elizabeth (nee Hopkins) Flory.
He was only 18 months old when his father Daniel died in 1891 and was 13 when his mother Jane died in 1903 and his brother Charles became his guardian.
He was 21 when he married Florence Mabel Harding on Feb. 22, 1911 in Mabel's parents home at 42 Kirkwood St. in Akron, Ohio.
Lynn had his own jewelry store which he sold after the death of Mabel.
He then worked for George Dales Jewelry Store in Akron where he met Ruth Lee and married her June 15, 1921 in Richfield, Ohio and moved to Painesville where Lynn worked at T.L. Peck's Jewelry Store.
He became a watchmaker and received a certificate from the Horological Institute of America, Washington, DC in 1924.
The family then moved to Geneva, Ohio where Lynn ran his own jewelry store until his death at the age of 39 in Jan. 1929 from acute cardiac dilitation following influenza from lack of medical attention due to religious belief. Lynn and Ruth never had any children.
He is buried at Fairview Cemetery on old Rt. 21 in Richfield, Ohio, Sec. 1-A lot 121, grave 4 next to his second wife Ruth (who died in 1977) & her parents.

LYNN S. FLORY, residing at 21 Blaine St, Geneva, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, 1929 from acute cardiac failure following influenza caused by lack of medical attention due to religious belief at age 38 years, 9 months, 2 days. He owned and ran a jewelry store and was married to his 2nd wife, Ruth Flory who was the informant.
She stated he was born in Greenwich, OH on April 18, 1890 and his parents as Daniel W & Jane (nee Hopkins) Flory. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Jan. 24, 1929.
