Birth: Jun. 15, 1963
Death: Jul. 1, 2006

Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The (GA) - July 3, 2006
Deceased Name: Amy FLOCK
AMY ALICE FLOCK June 15, 1963 - July 1, 2006 Amy Alice Flock passed away after a 6 year battle with colon cancer on July 1, 2006. Nicknamed the "comeback kid" by her family, she endured one setback after another, but still continued to fight. She is survived by her two cats, two brothers, five sisters, five nieces and nephews, and her mother, Mary L. Flock of Lawrenceville. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Chamblin Flock. Amy was born in Albany, Georgia on June 15, 1963. She attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Elemantary, Fernbank Elementary, and Druid Hills High School. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering. Not long after starting work at Columbia Engineering, she was diagnosed with cancer. Her Columbia Engineering family stood by her throughout her entire illness and was a great support to her family. Amy loved crafts_ scrap-booking, decoupage, and decorating magnets. Her family looked forward each year to her calendars. She would keep the theme a secret and ceremoniously pass the calendars out at Christmas. Her calendar themes ranged from houses that the family had lived in to a detailed family history spanning several generations. She collected the family recipes into a cookbook. Amy also wrote poetry and used her computer to record a CD of her singing show tunes. Amy had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Amy wasn't just a devoted sister and daughter; she was also a mentor and took new employees under her wing. Amy decorated and delivered miniature Christmas trees to hospice and women's shelters, and she taught introductory computer classes for women through St. Margaurite Catholic Church. Amy touched many lives and will be remembered for her quick wit, intelligence, creativity, and candor. Visitation and remembrances will be shared from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday July 5, 2006, at Bill Head Funeral Home, 6101 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 770-564-2726. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am the following morning at St. Margaurite d'Youville Catholic Church in Lawrenceville with a reception to follow. Donations in lieu of flowers are welcome toward the purchase of carillon bells for St. Margaurite's, 85 Gloster Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044, c/o Father Jim Harrison. 770-381-7337
