WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Ruby Hester Flippin Bowman, 83, formerly of Westfield, passed away Monday, March 17, 2003, at Stokes-Reynolds Hospital. She was born Sept. 20, 1919, in Stokes County to Walter and Molly Flippin. Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and a member of Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by a nephew, Max Ore and wife Carolyn of Pinnacle and a great-nephew, Virgil Ore of WalnutCove. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lee Bowman and a son, William Bowman. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Elder Jimmy Lankford, Elder J.H. Keaton and Elder Rodney Marshall. Mrs. Bowman will lie in state at the church from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 this evening, March 20, 2003, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. The Bowman family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain.
