She was the daughter of the late Russell and Olive (Knights) Fletcher, and the wife of Franklin B. Edwards, Sr. who died in 1995. She grew up in Medford and was a graduate of the Medford School System. She summered at Long Lake in Littleton and spent many summers on the family farm on Fletcher Lane, Littleton. She was married on October 24, 1937, and made her home in Littleton until 2005 when she moved to Concord.
She worked at Cobb, Inc. in Littleton which was later owned by Upjohn Pharmaceutical, both in the chick hatchery and in the office. She retired at the age of 65 after 37 years of service.
She was a member of an Antique Car Club with her husband, and a former member of the First Church Unitarian of Littleton.
Her survivors include two daughters, Virginia Sibley of Bedford, and Dorothy Jarvis of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a sister, Shirley Saunders of Billerica; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Franklin B. Edward Jr., and the sister of the late Norma Ford and Audrey Church.
