WASHINGTON — Virginia Alice Eneix, 93, went to join her Lord in Heaven Friday (Feb. 28, 2014) at the Arbors at Fairmont.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence "Eddy" Fleming, having been born on Feb. 1, 1921.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth McElroy of Little Indian Creek and Josephine Sanson of Fairview; her first husband and father of her two sons, Lewis "Buck" Vandergrift in 2010; and the wife of her younger son, Kimberly "Hearn" Vandergrift in 2011.

Virginia is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Fleming of Fairmont and Barbara Summers Pardaen of Four States; Steven's widow, Nancy "Davis" Vandergrift, and their daughters, Alibeth Vandergrift and her husband Jason Preglow and Jennifer (Nathaniel) Elrod; her great-grandchildren, Davis and Kenleigh Vandergrift, all of Ann Arbor, Mich.; her youngest son, Timothy Vandergrift of Mannington; two nieces, Kathy Henderson and Shiela Smith, both of Fairmont; and two nephews, Larry McElroy of Little Indian Creek and Danile Sanson of Fairview.

Virginia was a member of Gateway United Methodist Church in Fairmont and was active in the United Methodist Women in her younger days.

Virginia was a graduate of University High School in Morgantown (1939) and West Virginia Business College in Fairmont. She retired from the Consumers Credit Department of the former First National Bank of Fairmont with 20 years of service. Virginia had also worked at Owens-Illinois and Bradshaw Hydraulics.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Arbors for taking care of Virginia the last three years of her life, and also the Hearn family for their love and support and her church family at Gateway for their love, cards and visits.

The family requests memorial donations be made in Virginia's memory to Gateway United Methodist Church Building Fund, 301 Diamond St., Fairmont, WV 26554.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Mayfield officiating. A committal service will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
