On Thursday night, March 31st, in the Crittenden County Hospital, the death of Mrs. Barnett, who was a semi-invalid for a number of months, had been one of Marion's outstanding women, and a leader in the social life of the city.
She was before her marriage, Miss May Fleming, a daughter of Andrew Jackson Fleming and Nancy Burgess Fleming, thus being a member of one of Livingston County's most extensive families. On February 16th, 1887, she was married to William Barnett, who became one of Crittenden County's most extensive farmers.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.S. Frazer and Mrs. Esther McDonald.
